Having a physical or mental challenge can be isolating. The mission of Taglit-Birthright Israel is to foster a love for Jewish heritage, beliefs, and culture in all Jewish young adults, so we have created trip experiences especially for people with developmental or physical disabilities, those who are on the autism spectrum — we even have a trip for those recovering from addiction. These trips not only allow participants to discover Israel in all its ancient and modern glory, but they also empower them to challenge their limits and experience independence away from home.

All activities are tailored to the ability levels of participants, with whatever adaptations are necessary to ensure their safety and enrichment. Because outdoor adventure is a core part of experiencing the spectacular landscape of Israel, participants have the opportunity to float in the Dead Sea, visit Masada, raft down the Jordan River and zip-line in Israel’s North. Our accessibility and inclusion trips are a powerful way to promote acceptance and inclusivity of all members of our global Jewish community.
